Ans.1: I am not 100% sure. If I do, they have never spoken about it. I watched a few documentaries about the great depression but that was during my 9th grade year. It was portrayed as a sad and uncomfortable setting in which many have lost everything.

Ans.2: I had multiple relatives who lived during the Great Depression. My father’s grandparents both grew up in poverty in the rural South in the 1930s. My grandpa was a sharecropper’s son, and my grandmother was the daughter of a poor farmer’s daughter. During the Depression, they both married young and had children. My father was the ninth child in a family of nine children. He complained about having to wear clothing passed down from his elder siblings and being hungry on several occasions.
My maternal grandparents were impoverished as well, but they resided in the city and had an easier time finding jobs than my father’s parents. My grandpa worked as a barber while my grandma worked at home. They were able to provide for their family, but the Depression hit them hard.
They were familiar with despair and pain. They have had times in their life when they felt hopeless and powerless. They had to learn how to deal with my sadness and control their symptoms. They had to learn to cope with the unpleasant thoughts and behaviors that sometimes accompany depression. They’ve had to learn to live with the anguish and isolation that sometimes accompany mental illness.

Q.2. In the context of this article, how can politicians create positive economic change? What can we learn about economic policy during a recession from this text? If you were president during a serious recession, what actions would you take to get your country back on track?
Ans: In the context of this article, politicians can create positive economic change by prioritizing the well-being of the citizens over their own personal gain. This means implementing policies and measures that directly benefit the people and stimulate economic activity.
During a recession, it is important for politicians to inject money into the pockets of the citizens. This can be done through various means such as direct cash transfers, tax cuts, or increased government spending on public projects. By putting money into the hands of the people, they are able to increase their purchasing power and stimulate demand for goods and services.
The text suggests that when money isn’t circulating in the economy, it can lead to a collapse. This is because when people are not spending, businesses suffer and may have to lay off workers or even shut down. This further reduces consumer spending and creates a negative cycle of economic decline.
